John P. Wells is Grand Steward

LIBERTY -- John P. Wells of Matamoras, Penna. was presented with the credentials and emblematic apron of the Masonic office of Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of New York on September 9th at the Liberty Temple. Mr. Wells is a member of Monticello Lodge #532 and Liberty Lodge #521, Free & Accepted Masons. As Grand Steward, he is a member of the governing body of Masonry in New York State.

Membership in Masonic lodges is open to men age 21 years and older, without regard to race, color or religion. To be accepted for membership a man must be of good character and reputation, and believe in a Supreme Being and the immortality of the soul.
